Connect Your Life With The Underprivileged in African Countries Who Desperately Need Your Help To Survive

Helping Hands Foundation is a charitable organization that collaborates with global donors through advocacy and project implementation in communities in need.

Our donor’s partner with us to fund initiatives they support, while we implement the projects and provide them with detailed progress data. We also work closely with local nonprofit organizations to ensure impactful advocacy and project execution. In 2024, around 431 million people in Africa living in extreme poverty, or 36% of the total population, we aim to eradicate it by moving our people out of poverty. Help the poverty-stricken children of Nigeria & other African countries who cannot afford basic needs by giving them the gift of dignity through support aid, shelter, education, and mentorship programs. Helping Hands Foundation’s primary focus is on education.

Together, we can break the cycle of poverty.

The country has a booming economy with emerging manufacturing and financial sectors. Yet one in four people in Nigeria live in poverty, with many facing high levels of ill health and social inequality. Access to health care is improving in urban areas, although the public health system still lacks funding and resources. Those who can’t afford private medical care are often unable to access basic treatments.

To boost literacy rates and move away from low-paid agricultural work, more people are being supported to go to school, particularly girls and children with disabilities. This inclusive approach to education will ensure people are able to support themselves. Helping Hands Foundation has worked in Nigeria for 70 years. We are registered locally as Helping Hands Foundation Nigeria Foundation.

Working in partnership

By working with partners, we're able to pool our expertise and ensure more people are protected and treated.

An estimated 24 million people in Nigeria have sight loss

29 million people are thought to have a disability

168 million people are believed to need treatment fro NTDs

Inclusion and equality

Not all people in Nigeria can claim their human rights

People with disabilities and women and girls face stigma and discrimination in society. Our charity work on disability rights in Nigeria focuses on improving everyone’s access to health care, education and employment.

F.A.Q

Why should I make a will?

+

Leaving a will can make a difficult time that much easier.

Finalising the affairs of someone who has passed away without a will causes delays and complications. During this time, your loved ones will be unable to access the money you intended for them, and legal costs could reduce the value of your estate.

Making a will also enables you to leave a gift to other causes or charities such as Helping Hands Foundation.

How much does a will cost?

+

The cost of a straightforward will is often less than £200. This is money well spent to ensure your wishes are followed and your loved ones are looked after. Helping Hands Foundation has partnered with will writing service Farewill to enable you to make a will for less

You’ll also need to keep your will up to date as your circumstances and family can change over the years. Minor additions can be made using a document called a codicil, and this is also an easy way to leave a legacy gift to a charity.

How do I know how much money to leave?

+

Once you have calculated your estate, you can draw up a list of people you wish to benefit and in what way. At this point, you may also consider leaving Helping Hands Foundation a share of the assets that are left over – your residuary estate. A residuary gift is by far the most effective way of remembering us in your will, as the value tends to adjust in line with inflation, meaning we receive the level of support you intended.
